1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SaladVault (the "Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Service

SaladVault is a Zero-Knowledge password manager with a Dual-Lock protocol. The Software encrypts all data locally on your device before any transmission. We have no ability to access, read, or recover your encrypted data.

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your master password and your device key (Ingredient Secret).

You are responsible for securely storing your BIP39 recovery phrase. If you lose both your device key and recovery phrase, your data is permanently irrecoverable. SaladVault cannot help you recover it.

You must not use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.

4. Zero-Knowledge Architecture

SaladVault operates on a Zero-Knowledge basis. Your master password is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Your email is hashed via Blind Indexing before reaching our servers. We cannot access your vault contents under any circumstances, including law enforcement requests.

5. Accounts and Subscriptions

The Jardinier (free) plan provides unlimited local storage with no expiration.

Paid plans (Maraicher Pro, Potager Familial) are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days advance notice. Existing subscriptions are honored at their current rate until renewal.

6. Open Source License

SaladVault is licensed under AGPL-3.0. The source code is publicly available. You may audit, fork, and modify the code in accordance with the license terms. The AGPL-3.0 license governs the use of the source code; these Terms govern your use of the hosted service and distributed binaries.

7. Data and Privacy

Your data belongs to you. All vault entries are encrypted client-side with XChaCha20-Poly1305 before storage or transmission. We store only encrypted blobs and anonymous identifiers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Service Availability

The local application functions entirely offline and does not depend on our servers.

Cloud sync features (paid plans) depend on server availability. We target 99.9% uptime but provide no guarantees. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance.

9. Limitation of Liability

SaladVault is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any data loss, security breach resulting from user negligence (weak master password, compromised device, lost recovery phrase), or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

You may stop using SaladVault at any time. Your local data remains yours. We may suspend cloud sync access for violation of these terms or non-payment, but we will never delete your local data.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of France.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
